Birmingham International Airport Sort Allocation Computer Upgrade Goes Live

January 2006. Sort Allocation Screen

MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd are pleased to announce that the recent upgrade project for the Birmingham International Airport Terminal One ‘Sort Allocation Computer System’ has now gone live.

The upgrade project involved integrating the ‘BPM’ (Bag Processed Message) into the existing sort allocation computer system previously designed and installed by MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd.

This final message integration completed the last piece of the jigsaw and hence the complete life and times of each bag throughout its life cycle within the baggage handling system up to the point of unload by the baggage handling operator.
