Southend Airport has embarked on a major programme to upgrade their passenger outbound Security facilities to offer their passengers the ultimate in security, efficiency and the customer experience.

Part of this programme involved evaluating the market place to determine the latest technology and solutions being adopted to increase security and efficiency whilst maximising the customer experience.

Market research resulted in further extensive reviews of the MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd Mach-Secure Product solution.

The final conclusion by the Southend Airport management team was to select from the Mach-Secure family of products.

Three Mach-SmartLanes are being installed along with Mach-SmartView systems and the overall security efficiency management system Mach-SEMS.  

The new Mach-SmartLane® is an Integrated X-Ray baggage tray handling system that ensures optimum performance is achieved through the out bound security screening process.

The new Mach-SmartLane® is only part of the ongoing story of innovation and development which has been undertaken by MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd in the field of Airport Passenger Security.
